Context Menu
FileToFolder is automatically registered with your context menu in Explorer but if it should become deregistered for any reason then simply re-register here. In addition, you can register FileToFolder with the CodeLine Group if your context menu is becoming cluttered. All CodeLine applications running from the context menu support this and can be included under one "CodeLine" context menu entry.
Include the "Open FileToFolder..." Shortcut
Opening the full application from the context menu is not typical behaviour but you may find that you often need to configure the default settings for the context menu if the standard rules don't apply. Enabling or disabling this option will toggle the menu item highlighted below:
"Run at Startup" will open FileToFolder when restarting the operating system. This option is provided so that a version check can be done on startup.  Because there is no need for FileToFolder to be running in the background to work from the context menu it will close itself after the version check unless a new version is detected in which case you will have the option to upgrade or not.

Check for Updates

Transforms allow subtle changes to the new folder and file name to be made as part of the folderising process.
For example:
New Folders - None (the usual condition) "c:\Test\Tax\Receipt.pdf"  --> "c:\Test\Tax\Receipt\Receipt.pdf"
New Folders - UPPER CASE "c:\Test\Tax\Receipt.pdf"  --> "c:\Test\Tax\RECEIPT\Receipt.pdf"
File Name - None (the usual condition) "c:\Test\Tax\Receipt.pdf"  --> "c:\Test\Tax\Receipt\Receipt.pdf"
File Name - UPPER CASE "c:\Test\Tax\Receipt.pdf"  --> "c:\Test\Tax\Receipt\RECEIPT.pdf"
Stack New Folders and File Name - UPPER CASE "c:\Test\Tax\Receipt.pdf"  --> "c:\Test\Tax\RECEIPT\RECEIPT.pdf"
Include Sub-folders Ticking this will mean that all sub-folders will be searched from the folder that you clicked on for matching files to move to the current folder.
Use the File Filter... When searching through the folder or sub-folders, the filter will be used IF ticked or otherwise all files will be moved.
Delete the File's empty Folder... After the files have been moved to the current folder, the folder they were in will be deleted if empty.
Delete ALL Empty Folders... Same as above with the inclusion of ANY empty folders that might be found on the search path, regardless of whether a file was previously found there and moved.
Context Menu File Selection
Windows, by default, will allow a maximum of 15 files to be selected from within Explorer and “actioned”. This can be increased with a change to a registry setting. Please ensure that you backup your registry before applying the change discussed further under Increasing the max number of files.
To access the Internet (to Check for Updates, for example), it may be necessary to provide the Proxy settings the PC is using. You can enter these manually or use the Try to Find Default Settings button to read these values from the Operating System.
