ShareWatcher 2.5.11 is now released to introduce the new installer that had to be used (see earlier post). Just a reminder that the auto-update process will succeed in downloading the new version but, unfortunately, it will fail to install because of this installer change-over. Please download the newest ShareWatcher release here and install manually. Once installed, the auto-update will work as normal for any new releases.

For ShareWatcher, FileToFolder and ModemWatcher Users

Visual Studio is discontinuing support for their “built-in installer” so all older products are being forced to the InstallShield Installer. QuickMove is not affected.

This is causing hassles in a number of areas with the result that the easiest (for me) is to ask that when you are prompted, in the next few days, that a new version is ready for download, that you navigate to the relevant product page and:

1. Click Download from the CodeLine site (not the mirrors as they may not be current yet);

2. Make note of any of your settings and path locations (ShareWatcher) since these will be lost when uninstalling;

3. Uninstall the existing application using the “Uninstall” menu option or using Windows’ “Uninstall Programs”;

4. Install the download from point 1.

Apologies for the disruption of the “Auto-Update” process. Once you have been through this, the updates will return to being a simple click of the “OK” button.

Minor Versions don’t normally warrant a post but this release solves a “Cancel” freeze problem, for some users, on very deep folder structures.
