FileToFolder

FileToFolder is simple to use and focused in it’s purpose: make folders from a selection of files and move those files into their respective folders. This is most easily accomplished from the Context Menu in Windows Explorer where FileToFolder is registered but the full application can be launched and operated as a conventional application as well.

Increasing the maximum number of files that can be opened in explorer

Windows, by default, will allow a maximum of 15 files to be selected from within Explorer and “opened” or in the case of FileToFolder, folderised.

This can be changed in the registry by adding this:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]
"MultipleInvokePromptMinimum"=dword:00000064

where “00000064″ in this case is a decimal max of 100 files.

If you would prefer to just run a “Registration Entry” file to automatically add this into your registry, it can be downloaded here but be sure to backup your registry first.

Really fixed “Making Folder from EXE” problem.
Added a Log File for viewing when using FileToFolder from the Application Console.
Added an Error Log for viewing when using FileToFolder from the Context Menu.
Files with no extension can now also be Folderised.
It is now possible to “Refolderise”.
A checkbox option has been added to the search results which allows for finer control over which files will be Folderised.
